Oil Painting the American West Series - Tuesdays in November

Tuesdays 6:30-9pm in November (3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th)

Discover the foundations of oil painting in this supportive 4-week course designed for those just starting out, or those looking for deeper quality instruction and experimentation. In this series, travel through the American West painting iconic landscapes that we all know and love. Through step-by-step demos, you’ll learn essential techniques for landscape painting including color mixing, layering, perspective and style.

Each week of this course we will paint a different landscape to explore different lighting, textures, and colors. Follow along with instructor Morgan Jones’ demos to learn techniques and complete a guided painting, or choose your own image to apply demonstrated techniques to complete a painting of your own with individual guidance.

All supplies are included for use in class, and no prior experience necessary!

Recommended age 14 and up. Minors to be accompanied by adults with their own tickets. Here is a guide to oil painting safety- we will go over this in class as well.

*Prepare a space in your car to take your paintings home- it will still be wet to the touch as oil paintings take a long time to dry. You can lay it flat in the trunk with our newsprint, or bring a brown paper grocery bag to store it in during transport
